Mike’s World Suicide Prevention Day 2024

World Suicide Prevention Day was busy for Mike.

Firstly online with Champs Public Health Collaborative in Cheshire and Merseyside talking about changing the narrative surrounding suicide.

Then online again for the Greater Manchester WSPD Virtual Event. Mike shared his talk with Nina Smith about why Suicide Prevention in schools is so important. Nina Smith is a Churchill Fellow who has produced a report that underlines why we must just do this.

After a quick lunch it was over to Wrexham University for their WSPD event and support their collaboration with PAPYRUS.

The day finished with the Salford Vigil of Remembrance. A moving procession and time of reflection for those affected by suicide. Names of those lost were read out including Sophie, Emily and Beth.

A long and emotional day helping spread our message of hope.
