Suicide is the biggest killer of those under 35 in the UK. We only learned this terrifying fact because our daughters took their own lives. By raising awareness, we hope we can help prevent other families from being devastated by suicide.

Walking to Save Young Lives

We are Andy, Mike and Tim — three dads who each lost a daughter to suicide. Sophie, Beth and Emily were bright, kind and deeply loved. Their deaths were devastating, and life without them is something we carry every day.

Out of that grief, we found each other — and a shared purpose: to do something to try to stop this happening to other families.

Since 2021, we’ve walked over 1,500 miles across the UK to raise awareness, start conversations and support the life-saving work of PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide. Together we have raised over £1,500,000, vital funds that help PAPYRUS save lives every day.

Our first walk took us from Andy’s house in Cumbria, to Mike’s in Manchester finishing in Tim’s home village in Norfolk. We then walked between the four parliaments of the UK to promote our petition calling for suicide prevention to become a compulsory part of the school curriculum. In 2024, we walked down the east side of the country from Scotland to Norwich, and most recently we completed a walk around the stunning Anglesey Coastal Path — every step has been in memory of our daughters, and in hope for others.

Our message is simple: suicide is preventable.
But right now, many young people don’t know where to turn, or that help exists. That’s why we continue to campaign for suicide prevention to be included in the school curriculum — so every young person learns how to talk about suicide safely, how to seek help, and how to support others.

We believe this could save lives.
